one of the best things with art and the millions of styles that exists within it, is that each style somehow resembles the artists themselves. look at the portraits made by your favourite artist, and then look at their face. i am almost certain you’ll see some similarities.
extrics said: I actually rely on color and values to portray the weight I need to make my characters more solid and just use lines as a value separation. I what you have looks fine.
Hey, Extrics ! I totally get what you’re saying. C: I’ve just noticed the line problem when I do lineart commissions - They end up looking really flat since I can’t rely on color ; v ; But you know - You have great lineart and coloring sooooOOOooo.
/gently pushes >:U I’m so jealous.
@visulies said: line weight is so hard to do * __ * sometimes it happens naturally other times it doesn’t exist LOL

TODAY IN BIOLOGY CLASS WE LEARNED THAT WHEN YOU MOW THE GRASS THE BLADES RELEASE A CHEMICAL THAT MAKES THAT GLORIOUS SMELL BUT THE REASON WHY THEY RELEASE THE CHEMICAL IS TO WARN OTHER GRASS BLADES OF DANGER SO WHEN WE SMELL THE FRESHLY CUT GRASS SMELL IT’S NOT JUST A GOOD SMELL IT’S THE SMELL OF THE BLOOD AND SCREAMS FOR HELP OF THOUSANDS OF GRASS BLADES
hhhh do you think you could share your brush settings with us??
hey anon ~i’d be glad to share my brush settings with you -
they’re not anything really special , but you can take a look anyway ~ left to right : brush - for sketches (sometimes) blur (i use this carefully, because it makes the shading too soft and weak (?) sometimes. i use it mostly to create gradients. ) pen - my trusty multipurpose pen ! i use it for everything - i change the settings a little bit depending on what i’m coloring … but this is what i mostly keep it as (default) .
"step on a Lego" sounds like a weak ass insult but if you’ve ever actually stepped on a Lego you’d understand that there’s a moment between stepping on it and regaining your senses where you actually pray for death
